Hi Strangers!

Remember me?

I thought today would be a good day to come out of hibernation, being that it is my THREE year Bloggiversary and all..

Three years- can you believe it?

Seems like just yesterday that I sat down to write my first post on my original blog over at Flippinghomes.com.  Actually, I take that back. It seems more like 3 lifetimes ago, but you know what I mean.

So, I spent the ENTIRE day baking a delicious Bloggiversary cybercake for all of us to enjoy.  It’s dark chocolate with black raspberry filling and a cream cheese frosting……

Mmmmmmm…. looks delish, doesn’t it?

Go ahead and help yourselves- there’s plenty to go around…

So, anywho, in case you were wondering what the hell I’ve been up to (clearly not blogging), the truth is…. I’ve been in somewhat of a funk lately.

Also, I’ve been suffering from writer’s block, as well as a mild to moderate case of REI burn-out.

And also, my lower back has been kicking like Chuck Norris for about two weeks now, and last but not least, I think I’m coming down with the flu or something. (Mom, if you’re reading this, I just made all of that up for dramatic effect, so stop worrying).

So yeah, I’ve not been very productive in the real estate/blogging departments lately.

I expect this funk to last approximately 0-2 more days, and then I will be back in the swing of things, dammit.

I considered keeping the details of this little rut to myself, but I figured if you guys are on the internets and in the real estate arena, you already have enough people blowing smoke up your ass on a daily basis, so I thought I’d do something a little different and tell it like it is.

Zing.

On a lighter note, I start my orientation to become a volunteer at the Humane Society this Saturday, which I am really looking forward to.  I’m going to be an animal companion, which basically consists of taking the dogs outside to give them exercise. I’m also going to see if Jim will qualify for the Pet-a-Pet program.   Perhaps I’m biased, but I think he would make the perfect therapy dog….

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now, guys.

If you don’t see another post from me by the weekend…..send help.  Just kidding.

Later Alligators!

P.S.
Thanks to all of you for sticking with me these last 3 years- you guys are the best, and I truly appreciate all of your support. For real.

P.P.S.
Don’t forget to wipe the cake crumbs off your chin. :)

3/14/2008

Well, yesterday I closed the deal that was supposed to close on Tuesday. So that’s good news… I almost didn’t make it to the closing because I had a late night out on Thursday. It started out as a networking cocktail hour, and then turned into John’s Birthday Celebration. We had a good time..

I was planning on looking at a bunch of houses and making a bunch of offers yesterday, but after the closing, Jim and I decided to stay home and do a little of this…

I guess you could call it a lazy weekend.

Tonight I’m watching Burn After Reading and Talladega Nights (thanks for the suggestion Shae).

Have a great weekend!

So, the second deal that was supposed to close yesterday, did not close. Not really sure why. The bank’s title company sent over the HUD with tomorrow’s date on it for the closing, so, I guess we’re closing tomorrow. Then I’ve got two that are supposed to close Friday, but I’m trying to get one of them done on Thursday because my buyer (same guy who is buying the one from me tomorrow), is going out of town early Friday until the 3rd of January.

I made a bunch of offers yesterday and a few today. Jim and I had intentions of going to the hood to look at houses today, but once we got there, I decided that it was too beautiful of a day (not trying to rub it in, Northerners) to spend looking at shacks, so we decided to go to the dog park instead, where Jim came ever so close to dining on a squirrel sandwich for lunch.

And that’s all I’ve got for today.

Well, except for this picture I took from my balcony tonight of the Suntrust building in all it’s Christmas glory. I don’t know how long it’s been dressed up like Santa, but I just noticed it tonight….

HO HO HO!

Bye, Bye, Blackberry…

11/22/2008

Well, I finally had all I could take from that stupid piece of crap Blackberry Storm.

I took it back today and got the pink Blackberry Curve, which is what I wanted all along anyway. I love it already, and I’ve only had it a few hours.

The final straw with the Storm came yesterday while I was out in the hood looking at houses and the stupid thing randomly froze up for 10 minutes while I was trying to get a lock box code from one of my emails.

Of course while I’m standing out in front of this house in the hood yelling curse words at the phone, the 5 dudes drinking 40s on the patio of the house across the street starting heckling me and barking at me (no joke).

Awesome.

I love being barked at.

I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving…. It’s a good thing that calories and carbs don’t count on the holidays, because otherwise I’m pretty sure I would have gained 10 pounds or so. Jim ate like a king as well, and come to find out, turkey has the same effect on dogs as it does on people…

 Bye, Bye, Blackberry...
Hehehe.

¡Adios Amigos!

7/27/2008

The deal with McHotterson closed Friday. He brought his girlfriend along to the closing. She seriously looks like a walking, talking barbie doll, and I secretly wanted to punch her in the face a little bit. But that’s just between you and me. Hehe.

The deal that was supposed to close 5 years ago, is finally (for serious this time), for REAL, going to be ready to close next week. I got the good news right before I got the call from my buyer letting me know that he may not be able to buy it now because he is having a really hard time getting financing on the house he bought from me a month or so ago. He bought it with cash, and is trying to get his cash back out of it, but is having a really hard time doing so….. Hilarious, isn’t it?? Now that the idiots at the bank finally have their shit together (a month and a half later), my buyer can’t get the cash to buy it. HAHAHAHA. Hilarious!! So……after talking to Steve Cook about it, he advised me (for probably the 100th time), to get my ass out on the streets (I’m paraphrasing here, btw) and find a local lender who I can bring my buyers to. Honestly, he has been telling me to do this for the last six months or so, and I still haven’t done it. If any of you guys from Flippinghomes.com are reading this, you know that Nate has been bringing all of his buyers to a few of the local lenders he has built relationships with, and he is doing very, very, well. So, that’s my mission for this coming week- find a few small, local banks who I can bring my buyers to. I can’t say I’m really looking forward to it, because I know there will be a lot of rejection involved in the process, but I know that it will be well worth my time once I get it done. I guess you could say that I’m in a comfort zone right now, and I need to get out of it and make some adjustments.

Oh yeah- the deal I closed on Friday with McHotterson was listed by one of the agents who I have now closed 4 deals with. I put in an offer on another of his properties on Thursday, and he called me Saturday to tell me that he’s pretty sure he can get it pushed through. He also told me that he really likes doing business with me. Hehehehe.. Anyway, I will find out tomorrow if the bank is going to take my offer, and if so, I already have a buyer lined up for it. Good stuff.

And that’s all I’ve got, folks.

Well, except this picture of Jim wearing his new hat….
