It’s 1:18 am and I am not even packed yet. And I am baking cookies. My flight leaves in 6 hours.
I have been running around like a crazy person since 9am this morning trying to get everything done before I go. I managed to get all of my shopping done, and let me tell you, that was a fantastic time. I ran out of patience round about 6pm, and ended up getting everyone gift cards (except my nephew Trevor), but it still took me forever. I also managed to find myself a coat (half off), because I think it’s going to be 10 degrees or something like that in St. Louis. 10 degrees is painful. I also got a hat and gloves, and a scarf and earmuffs.
I just drove across town to drop off some cookies on my friend Jeff’s doorstep, and now I am worried that he is going to trip over them in the morning and crack his head open or something. I put them in one of those Christmas tins (with Santa on it) right outside his front door. You have to step down to get out of his front door, though, and I’m hoping he sees them before he steps. That would be a pretty crappy Christmas surprise to slip on a tin of cookies and end up in a coma. Maybe I should call him first thing in the morning..
I’m whipping up one more batch of cookies for my friend Dave, who I kind of tricked into taking me to the airport at 5am. Technically, he said yes when I asked him on Friday if he would do it, but I waited until he was 3 shots of tequila and two beers into our conversation before I brought it up. Hehe.
The timer on the oven is beeping, so I gotta run….
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas- stay warm, enjoy the time with your family and friends, and I will talk to you when I get back…

Well, I ended up closing deal #4 Friday afternoon. I called my wholesaler friend Dave shortly thereafter to see if he wanted to meet me for lunch/cocktails/tequila shots, at Estella’s on Davis island. We have both been doing really well these past few months, so we decided to meet up and celebrate. While we were enjoying our cocktails on the patio, I got a call from the bank’s title company about the deal where I was waiting for the bank to sign the deed package…..the lady said she finally got everything she needs from the bank, so I should be able to pick my check up tomorrow (Monday). So, that’s a good thing.
Friday evening, my friend Jeff surprised me with tickets to the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. It was awesome. I took ballet from when I was 4 years old all the way up until high school. I still have my first pair of ballet slippers, and also my firefly costume from my first recital. They are so tiny. I can’t remember why I quit (probably because I was too busy chasing boys and getting into trouble), but it is one of the decisions in my life that I really regret making. I felt envious watching the ballerinas on stage.
After the show, we went to the legendary Bern’s Steakhouse for dinner (my first time)…. Holy crap- I have never seen a wine list like that before. We ended up closing the place down, and then our server (who was the best server I have ever had in my entire life, by far) gave us a tour of the wine cellar, which was absolutely unbelievable…
I didn’t get much accomplished yesterday (too much wine the night before), but today I went on a sign mission, and ended up finding yet another cash buyer- the kind of buyer that is going to make me a shit-ton of money in the very near future… This makes me quite happy.
I still have not done my Christmas shopping, and I am leaving Tuesday morning at 6am. I do this every year. I hate myself for waiting until the last minute, but I am a last minute kind of girl, so I guess I just need to accept it and endure the consequences of my severe procrastination.
Tomorrow is going to be hellish.
10-4, over and out.

I had intentions of going to look at 5 houses today that I wanted to offer on, but I got a call from my friend Jeff just as I was heading out the door, asking if I wanted to go to Frenchy’s for lunch…
I just can’t say no to Frenchy’s- it’s my very favorite beach restaurant. They have this amazing She Crab Soup that I could eat by the bucket(s) full, and the views are amazing, and they have lots of beer. That’s a combination I just couldn’t refuse. Also, it was gorgeous out today, and I’ve had a very productive week, soooo….off to Clearwater beach I went….

The view

I did manage to get some work done while I was there, and should be locking up that house I was talking about in my last post. The buyer I originally thought was going to take it (the guy I hunted down last week), was not interested, but another wholesaler who I do a lot of business with, put me in contact with one of her buyers, and she’s “supposedly” going to bring me a deposit tomorrow. I have never had much luck with female buyers (except Crazy Caroline, but I’m pretty sure she is possessed by Satan, so she doesn’t count), so I am not holding my breath. I don’t know what the deal is, but every single female buyer I have ever come into contact with has been a complete waste of my time. Perhaps this one will be different, but, like I said, I’m not holding my breath. We shall see…..

Went to see the Rays play the Cubs last night with my friend Jeff. Man, there were a lot of Cubs fans in the house. I’m not a huge fan of baseball, really, but had a great time anyway….
I’m meeting a buyer in an hour to get a deposit and sign a contract for the house I just closed on with Nathan on Tuesday. I have some other guys interested, but they are still working on getting their hard money lined up, and I know this guy personally, and also know his hard money lender already said he would fund it, so I’m going with him.
The short sale deal that I had sold to my buyer is not going to happen because the seller’s attorney instructed her to not sign the promissory note, so I guess she’s going to just lose the house. Thank you, Mr. Attorney.
No new news on the other REO that was supposed to close forever ago. The bank is still dragging their feet for whatever reason. Maybe it will close some time before Christmas.
And that’s all she wrote. Gotta run….

I did absolutely no work this weekend. Nothing. No ads on Craigslist, no offers, no scouring the mls like a crack head until 3am. I took the weekend off, lounged around, and listened to my new Jack Johnson cd (available at your friendly neighborhood Starbucks).
Tonight, I went to see a movie with my friend Jeff. If any of you guys are contemplating suicide, and want to take a crack at death by boredom, might I suggest heading out to your local cinema and watching this excruciatingly drawn out snooze fest. I would have walked out after the first half hour if I were by myself, but, since the movie was Jeff’s idea, and I didn’t want to hurt his feelings, I sat there in irritated misery the entire 2 hours and some odd minutes, cursing to myself under my breath the whole time.
I’m pretty sure there were some underlying messages in the movie that I just didn’t get because I was too busy being bored to effing tears. It kind of reminded me of being forced to read Shakespeare in Honors English in high school, and wanting to commit suicide while the rest of the class spent the entire hour dissecting a single paragraph.
Other than that, I had a great weekend doing absolutely nothing.
